Summer is an ideal time to explore the region on foot or from the water. Guests can enjoy hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and other outdoor adventures, surrounded by some of Northern Norway's most dramatic scenery.
One of the most extraordinary features of an Arctic summer is the Midnight Sun. From late May to late July, the sun does not set in the Tromsø region, giving visitors almost unlimited daylight to explore the mountains and fjords.
A Scenic Journey from Tromsø
One of the great advantages of visiting the Lyngen Alps is that this spectacular wilderness is accessible from Tromsø while still feeling far removed from the city.
The journey from Tromsø to the Lyngen region is part of the experience itself, taking you through fjords, mountains and small Arctic communities. Depending on the exact destination and route, the journey generally takes around 2 hours or more, including the ferry crossing. The ferry between Breivikeidet and Svensby takes approximately 20–25 minutes, and the journey continues from there into the Lyngen Alps.
By the time you arrive, the city feels a world away. You are surrounded by towering mountains, open water and the quiet of the Arctic landscape.
